This gorgeous kitchen by Agean Kitchens serves as a focal point of the home and offers visual interest and creativity, as well as a high level of functionality.

The ingenious design allows the kitchen to assimilate with the rest of the home, and effectively defines its own space without being segregated from the contiguous design of the interior. This is enabled by a seamless continuation of the rich timber flooring, ample overhead lighting and a galley-style arrangement of built elements that permits easy flow between the indoor and outdoor areas.

Working closely with the homeowners and builder, Agean Kitchens formulated a stylish design, which is immediately apparent in the timber-veneer and opaque-glass island feature. The feature also includes built-in lighting, which frames part of the breakfast bar and provides a level of privacy behind which to prepare food when guests are present.

The kitchen comfortably accommodates two working cooks, with a double oven and large pantry in addition to two large benches that are crafted in ‘Alpine White’ Quantum Quartz. A particularly special feature of the kitchen is the white induction cooktop that vanishes almost completely into the benchtop. Many functional storage solutions have been included in the design, with the most impressive being the seamless, under-counter drawer profiles and similarly handle-less overhead cupboards.

A cool-grey Laminam splashback draws the eye to the back of the kitchen, with its beautiful texture lit from above by recessed lighting. The same material grounds the island and forms a delicate juncture between the velvet-finish white melamine and timber-veneer cabinetry. Finally, a mirrored kickboard located beneath the island creates the illusion of continued space, without the need to engineer a cantilevered bench.

The unique design is a testament to the flawless craftsmanship that’s promised by Agean Kitchens, and to its uncompromising use of high-quality materials in the delivery of show-stopping kitchens that reflect each owner’s taste and lifestyle.

Project 1

Described by Agean Kitchens as a design with an authentic old-world feel, this kitchen is an example of the exceptional results the company can achieve balancing requirements for both living and entertaining.

The standard of quality in Agean Kitchens’ work is immediately obvious in the project showcased here. The company worked closely with the owners and Australian Renovation Group, over a period of time to bring their dreams to fruition.

The focal point of the kitchen is the beautiful chimney mantle made from solid timber built by Australian Renovation Group. The pressed tin splashback accentuates the chimney’s powerful presence, while the cabinetry made from Tasmanian oak, pays homage to the home’s traditional character.

Soft green walls, intricate cornicing and jarrah timber floors beautifully complement the kitchen’s classic aesthetic, while the movable island bench has been designed to for food preparation and presentation, with the added benefit of accompanying storage. This allows whoever is cooking the ability to deliver meals while guests can be seated in the kitchen at the island bench without interfering.

Agean Kitchens works on both renovations and new homes, offering a complete service including design, manufacture, installation and project management. The company has extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of kitchen design and manufacturing, and works throughout the Perth region.

The company has been recognised for its quality of work with awards, including the Housing Industry Association (HIA) when in 2008 it won the prestigious Western Australia Kitchen Project of the Year award.

Project 2

For this project, Agean Kitchens worked in close collaboration with the client to create a highly-durable kitchen that combines a mix of traditional and contemporary elements to achieve an outstanding effect.

The ‘Antique White’ cabinetry doors feature a moisture-resistant 30 per cent gloss satin finish, pencil round edges, and Blum soft-close hinges. Beautiful brushed nickel handles were selected to enhance the visual appeal of the space.

The internal cabinetry is fitted with adjustable shelving, durable ORGA-LINE inserts and non-slip liners, while the TANDEMBOX full-extension drawers come with a lifetime guarantee.

The cooking zone boasts a lacquered mantle with hand-carved timber corbels that foster a charming traditional aesthetic, while the stepped-bullnose ‘Black Forest’ granite benchtops are 640mm-deep to provide ample space for preparation.

Agean Kitchens installed a handy One2Five 450mm integrated bin system from Häfele for everyday convenience, and fitted the pantry with energy-saving LED sensor lighting. For further functionality, the large island bench doubles as a breakfast bar and features a stylish fuss-free undermount sink.

To ensure a pleasing end result, Agean Kitchens always uses materials of the highest quality, such as the exterior- grade weatherproof plywood plinth, which was selected for the kitchen’s kickboards.
