OPEN INVITATION

DESIGNED FOR EVERYDAY CONVENIENCE

This spacious kitchen was designed by Alternative Kitchens’ principal designer Wayne to accommodate a client with a growing family and a passion for making and decorating cakes.

The kitchen facilitates harmonious use, even when occupied by multiple family members at one time. to expand the existing space, the external wall underwent major alterations. the new layout’s three distinct zones are thoughtfully placed to minimise traffic crossover, with corresponding appliances and storage located nearby for ease of access.

The fridge and pull-out pantries are located on the opposite end of the kitchen to the side-by-side ovens, while the smeg cooktop and blanco double-bowl sink are located across from one another in the centre of the space, along with the Fisher & Paykel dishdrawer dishwasher

The waterfall-end kitchen island doubles as a breakfast bar, to allow family members and guests to join in on conversation without interfering with meal preparation.

A dynamic mix of cool and earthy tones makes the kitchen an attractive and inviting space. a Polytec ULtragLaZe gloss finish was selected for the lower cabinetry, while the complementary 40mm square-edged benchtops have been crafted from engineered stone from smartstone.

The eye-catching splashback features Pave Wall house ‘cenere’ tiles that are laid horizontally, while the contrasting overhead cabinetry features a ‘tessuto milan’ ravine finish from Polytec.

From the warm vinyl plank flooring to the brushed-pewter laminate kickboards and brushed-steel beluno handles, the kitchen features a complementary range of different tones and textures that enhance its overall visual appeal.

Stylish pendant lights hang above the kitchen island, while Led task lighting was installed in the ceiling to illuminate every workspace.

Project 1

A HOMELY ATMOSPHERE

AN INVITING SPACE WITH TIMELESS APPEAL

This kitchen renovation was designed by Wayne Cook from Alternative Kitchens, and is a beautiful example of his enviable design skills. The client wanted the kitchen to flow seamlessly with the rest of the home and soften the room’s existing features.

The original sink was kept to maintain the kitchen’s authenticity, but additional open-shelving and stylish Hamptons- style cabinetry was installed to rejuvenate the dated space. The company also enhanced the splashbacks by using a combination of painted lining boards and white brick tiles.

The functionality of the cosy kitchen is increased with the inclusion of a separate butler’s pantry that features an extra sink, microwave recess, tea and coffee area, and laundry facilities. The extra bench space and work zone means there is plenty of room to cook comfortably without hindering the kitchen’s functionality.

Alternative Kitchens also removed an adjoining wall to combine the kitchen and dining areas and create a more spacious layout.
