PROVIDING CONSUMER ADVICE

SUPPORTING CONSUMERS AND THE CABINETMAKING INDUSTRY

Established in 1979, the Cabinet Makers Association of Western Australia (CMA WA) is a not for profit, voluntary association that was set up to support the interests of cabinetmakers and their customers, as well as businesses that supply to the cabinetmaking industry. CMA WA is the only Western Australian industry association solely representing cabinetmakers and its operations are overseen by a committee of management, which is comprised of experienced industry professionals.

Currently the CMA WA has a membership of nearly 200 cabinet making businesses together with an associate membership of more than 50 industry suppliers. CMA WA members cover the complete range of work undertaken in Western Australia, from bespoke furniture manufacture through to large-scale commercial projects. Most CMA WA members operate primarily in the kitchen and bathroom renovation market, however many of these businesses will undertake work for new homes and building companies.

People who choose to use a CMA WA member can trust that the company’s work practices and business history has been carefully vetted. Additionally, each member is required to comply with all legislation and regulations applicable to the industry as well as the association’s code of ethics.

Trying to determine which business will suit your requirements best can be difficult and making the wrong decision could cost you a lot of time and money. By using a CMA WA member you will maximise the chances of getting the job done right, at a competitive price. In the unlikely event that a problem should occur, CMA WA provides an advisory service, and if necessary will inspect the work and prepare a written report identifying any issues and usually recommending the most appropriate way to rectify. This service, including the preparation of the report and provision of expert witnesses should either party require legal adjudication, is free for CMA WA members and their customers.

For a fee, CMA WA will also provide advice and an inspection service for work carried out by non-member businesses. CMA WA has members with expertise in all aspects of the cabinetmaking industry. Contact CMA WA or visit www.cmawa.com.au to find the right business for your renovation or new home project.
