Project 2

AN ENTERTAINER’S DELIGHT

CLEVER AND COHESIVE DESIGN

Town & Country Designs worked in collaboration with the owners of the featured property to create their Hamptons- style dream home. The resulting designs are visually stunning, functional, and perfectly suited to the owners’ lifestyle.

With high-quality finishes and plenty of storage options, the spacious 2.9m x 5.7m kitchen features a classic charm and accommodates the clients’ love of cooking and entertaining.

The cooking zone features a 900mm-wide gas cooktop and two large ovens with cupboards on either side, which provide convenient storage for trays and chopping boards, and are fitted with pull-out inserts for oils and sauces.

With fluted panelling and a contrasting honed marble benchtop, the beautiful black island bench adds visual interest to the space. Hamptons-style stools are positioned along two sides of the bench, which also houses a large cupboard with adjustable shelving and a wide drawer for placemats.

The large butler’s sink features an elegant Perrin & Rowe tap with a spray rinse and black porcelain levers. Its location was moved to the island bench, offering a better view of the dining area and pool. A double pull-out bin and a 900mm-wide integrated dishwasher drawer are installed on either side of the sink for optimal convenience.

Town & Country Designs integrated dedicated zones for appliances and coffee-making, which feature customised storage options. Task lighting was installed beneath overhead cabinetry, which extends to the dropped ceiling to maximise storage space. LED-lit units with glass doors were installed to display ornamental dinnerware, allowing more space in the lower cabinets for everyday items.

Town & Country Designs also installed a display shelf for cookbooks and a handy drawer for important knick knacks and documents such as keys, reading glasses and mail, which may otherwise clutter the bench.

The main upstairs bathroom features a 1.2m communal double sink with separate mixers, a custom-made mirror, and stylish Montauk lighting supplied by Town & Country Designs. A spacious Kaldewei cast-iron and enamel bath borders an open, low-maintenance walk-in shower. Matte-finish ‘Sleek Concrete’ Caesarstone was selected for the benchtops, while the bath hob features gorgeous Spanish-made tiles from Forezzi.

Herringbone marble tiles were selected for the luxury downstairs powder room, which adjoins the main living area. Villeroy & Boch basins and solid brass handles from Armac Martin evoke a luxurious atmosphere, while a black Nero Marquina marble border defines the space and complements the ‘Domino’ black wall paint from Dulux Australia.

The user-friendly laundry design cleverly integrates plenty of storage space, and boasts a stylish double butler’s sink, which features a mixer tap with a pull-out spray. A walk-in storage cupboard is positioned at one end, with a useful ironing and drying closet at the other. ‘Sleek Concrete’ benchtops from Caesarstone Australia were selected to achieve aesthetic continuity throughout the home, along with beautiful hexagonal floor tiles and handcut Spanish subway tiles.

Servicing the guest bedroom and the outdoor pool area, the guest powder room features a stylish bench-mounted ceramic sink from Seima.

The glamorous ensuite features an Elwick freestanding bath from Victoria + Albert Baths Australia, and a vanity unit that has two large basins and beautiful Montauk lighting supplied by Town & Country Designs. The separate touch- catch cabinets provide personal toiletry storage and feature an elegant Hamptons-style cornice.

A personal grooming area with a shallow make-up drawer was also integrated into the unit, which contains roll-out fittings inside the cabinetry for a wash basket, a rubbish bin and small appliances. The white cabinetry beautifully complements the Bianco Carrara Gioia honed marble benches and splashbacks, while the classic chrome handles and tapware add a touch of class. Large marble tiles were selected for the walls, which were also cut and laid into an exquisite herringbone pattern for the flooring.
